Touching joy of Refugee children’s school reports


Graduation ceremony was organized for the refugee children from Caucasian and Central Asia countries, who completed their education in IMKANDER Refugee School. During the program activities, the children read poem and had songs. The songs reflecting the nostalgia of their motherland had given rise to emotional moments.

Providing educational opportunities to the refugees who have taken shelter in Turkey, IMKANDER Refugee School witnessed the enthusiasm of the end-of-year school report and graduation. Organized in Emin Saraç Culture Center in Başakşehir, Istanbul; the program organized on that occasion welcomed the children of the school, as well as their families.

Refugee children in Turkey, mostly from Chechnya, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria and other Northern Caucasian regions, in addition to East Turkistan, Uzbekistan and similar Central Asian countries on account of the war or similar reason, refugee children presented poems and songs they learned in Turkish.

Reading innumerable verses of the poems from Mehmet Akif up to Erdem Beyazid, the children, most of whom were the orphans, created extremely sensational moments for the audience during the program in particular since they reflected “the nostalgia and long for their motherlands”.

In his speech delivered by Murat Ozer. IMKANDER’s Chairman, thanked to those who provided the supports in achieving to the present facilities for training activities, consisted of state of art classrooms, libraries and study rooms from the first efforts initiated in an apartment flat attending only ten pupils throughout in a five-year course.

The children presented a theater performance on leading personages, including Chavhar Dudayev, Hz. Omar, Salahattin Ayyubi, Zeynep Gazali, Ebu Halid es-Suri, Halid Bin Velid and Sheikh Ahmet Yasin.

During the program, the remarkable students received various gifts. The teachers providing services in training received thank you plaque.

The Immigrant School is free of charge. The school provides Turkish courses on behalf of the children and their mothers. In addition to Turkish, the children who are deprived from obtaining the formal education due to the problems faced in regard to the residence permission and language, are also provided with the courses on various disciplines, including Mathematic, life science, Russian Language, basic English, Quran and Islam History.
